Where to look for more information on Salesforce.com:
- Compare editions to find the right one for you (how do I know which edition I'm on now?)
| |
You can easily tell which edition you are currently running by logging into Salesforce.com and checking your browser title bar. |
- Want to try it out risk free? Get a free fully functioning 30-day trial or use the basic, low-cost Contact Manager edition. This replaces their previously free Personal Edition as of September 2009 and is still a good place to start exploring the "Sales Cloud".
- Interested in Mass Emailing? Here is a great article by GroundWire with a comparison of various vendors with pricing and Salesforce integration capabilities. It was put out in 2010 but still has some good questions to ask yourself as well as options. It was written for Non Profits so the pricing may vary for your organization.
- Join the Force.com Developer Network for a free 2-user Developer account; test out changes before you implement them in your Production account and check out the Developer Discussion Board for invaluable tips and answers to questions big and small.
- Want to migrate some of the configuration changes you made in Sandbox to your production system? Now you can with the new metadata API and Force.com IDE - easy as cut and paste! Check out the wiki page for details, or ask us to show you. Now you can fully test your changes before migrating them to production. Imagine!
Also try "Change Sets" sandbox to production deployment, works well for basic changes and allows developers to put the change set together in Sandbox while someone else can deploy in Production. Can't delete failing or bad change sets from Production yet but hopefully that is coming.
